We are three carpenters building and renovating saunas for homes, summer cottages and apartment buildings around Pirkanmaa. Proper ventilation, honest materials and benches you will not want to leave.
What we build
Home saunas
Electric saunas for houses and apartments, planned around the room you have, with moisture barrier and ventilation done right.
Cottage saunas
Wood-heated saunas by the lake, from a small log building to a full sauna cabin with a dressing room and porch.
Renovation
New benches, wall panels, lighting and stoves for tired saunas. We keep what is still good and replace what is not.
Housing companies
Shared saunas in apartment buildings renovated in stages, so residents are never without a sauna for long.
How it goes
- Site visit. We look at the room or plot, the electrics and the chimney, and talk through how you like your löyly.
- Plan and quote. A simple drawing, a materials list and a fixed price. Aspen, alder or thermo-treated wood for the benches.
- Building. Insulation, vapour barrier, panelling, benches and stove. We clean up every day.
- First heating. We heat the sauna with you, check the airflow and leave a short care guide.
The workshop
Kivi & Koivu started as two friends restoring an old smoke sauna at a family cottage. Twenty years later we still build every bench in our own workshop.
We take on a limited number of projects each season, so the summer cottage months fill up early. Renovations are easiest to schedule in autumn and winter.

- Both are good. We help you choose based on how often you bathe, the space and the chimney.
- Do you handle the electrical work?
- Stove connections are done by a licensed electrician we have worked with for years.
- Which wood do you use?
- Spruce for walls and ceiling, aspen or alder for benches. Thermo-treated wood on request.
- Do you work outside Tampere?
- Yes, across Pirkanmaa and nearby regions for cottage projects.
